Dear HarmonySite administrator,
We have developed a powerful new feature that you may be interested in for your HarmonySite: Scheduled Tasks.
Scheduled Tasks is a mechanism for saving you time, by automating tasks that you would otherwise run manually, which are simple and time-consuming. Such tasks can be scheduled to run at certain times of the day, or month.
Examples of such tasks may include...
- Perform regular member invoicing (invoice any member who fees have recently become due)
- Send reminders for overdue invoices
- Send a reminder email to anyone that has not responded to a request for event-availability
- Send a text message to all members
- Send a specific email to a specific set of people
- Back up the member database to a CSV file
- ...Or anything else that you can think of that can be programmed to run in an unattended way
Tasks can be run...
- Every fixed number of minutes (e.g. every 5 minutes, or every hour)
- At a specific time of the day
- On a specific day (or days) of the week
- On a specific day of the month
One HarmonySite can have as many scheduled tasks as you want, each running on their own timeframe.
This new feature costs money. If you want this enabled for your HarmonySite, it will cost $40 per year, regardless of how many scheduled tasks you plan to have running (or how often they run).
We are in the process of developing a few of the above options. If you have a regular task that you don't like doing and you think would be a good candidate for automation, please let me know, by return email. Note that if it's something that would be particular only to your group (no other group would conceivably be interested in a similar task), then there may be a small development fee to create the task.
If you would like this new feature enabled on your HarmonySite, please reply to this email with the list of tasks that you think would be suitable. I'll let you know how many of them (a) we already have, or (b) would be easy to create, or (c) would not be possible.
