Subject:Announcing HarmonySite's newest theme: "Stockholm"

Dear HarmonySite administrator,

We are pleased to announce the latest addition to our collection of "themes" for your HarmonySite:  "Stockholm".

For those that are unaware, your HarmonySite comes with a selection of "themes".  Each theme is a "look" for your website, a way of presenting your website's content to site visitors and members.  It's possible to change the entire look of your site quite easily, and which theme you choose is simply a matter of personal aesthetics.

The "Stockholm" theme is HarmonySite's newest theme.  It's a clean theme that sits well with modern web fashions.  The main benefit of this new theme is that it's "responsive", or mobile-friendly.  If you adopt this theme for your HarmonySite, your website will be much easier to view and navigate on a mobile phone or tablet, and, as a bonus, Google will even rank your site higher in its search results!  We anticipate that, over the next few months, most of our clients will switch to using this new theme.

We were originally going to release two separate themes, but it worked out to be easier to release a single theme with a choice of two different home-page layouts.

You can see what the new Stockholm theme looks like before you switch to it, in our flagship HarmonySite:  www.soundconnection.com.au

That link shows you the more conventional of the two home-page layouts that come with the new theme.  The second home-page layout has been nicknamed "Stockland", and you can see what it looks like here:  http://themes.harmonysite.com/Stockland   (note that this is a mock-up site, not a live, working HarmonySite).

How do I switch my site over to this new theme?

You have two main choices for changing themes:

1.       You can do it yourself.  It's pretty easy, but there may be a couple of challenges, depending on your skill level.  It can take anywhere from 2 minutes to 2 hours, depending on how thorough you want to be.

2.       We can do it for you.  We charge a one-time fee of $50 (plus GST for Australian clients) for this.

If you want to do it yourself, we've prepared some detailed instructions for you.  Please read them carefully before you begin, including the "requirements" section at the top.  You may, after reading the instructions, feel too daunted to do it yourself.  If so, you can ask us to do it for you.

The instructions are here:

Please let us know if you find any issues, either with the new theme or with the documentation.  And please note that while all public-facing pages and most members pages are designed to be mobile-friendly, SOME members pages are NOT mobile-friendly.  They'll still work on a mobile phone of course, but you may have to do some zooming or sideways scrolling.

Enjoy,

Mark.
